NVIDIA froze half a model to make the other half 2.4× faster. The math is weird. The weights are public.
NVIDIA released Nemotron-Labs-TwoTower on July 2 — an open-weight diffusion language model that generates text in parallel by coupling a frozen pretrained AR backbone to a trained diffusion denoiser. It claims 2.42× higher throughput at 98.7% of autoregressive benchmark quality. If that holds at scale, the inference math for certain workloads changes.
