Qualcomm is in advanced talks to acquire Tenstorrent, the RISC-V AI chip startup led by chip legend Jim Keller, for $8–10 billion — a 3x premium over Tenstorrent's valuation just one year ago. Intel is reportedly competing for the same asset. The AI chip duopoly could have a credible third entrant. Or not. Talks are still ongoing.
