OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Teens on August 18 — a dedicated mode for users 13 to 17 that restricts self-harm, eating disorders, and sexual content and adds optional parental controls. Teenagers have used ChatGPT since 2022 under the same content policies as adults. The protections are real and worth knowing about.
